We’re awfully pleased to announce that we’ve rolled out a slew of upgrades to our Timelapse video service!

The Upgrades:

• Greatly increased frame rate on all timelapse videos for much more pleasing viewer experience.
• Dynamic frame rate depending on length of timelapse, which inserts more frames in your daily timelapse videos and spreads out the frames in your Weekly and Monthly videos. This also provides smoother viewing for those longer daily and monthly timelapses.
• Improved timelapse access: You’ve likely noticed that your viewers can now click the Timelapses link at the bottom of your live webcam video to view all of your latest timelapse videos.
• Improved ink sharing. We’ve also added the ability to easily share your latest videos as well. For those shareable links and embed codes go to our Dashboard -> Webcams -> Manage -> Timelapses -> Click to view a Timelapse -> Embed code.

The New Stuff:

Our new Super Timelapse add-on service offers a ton of advanced features that can take your time-lapses to whole other level.

• New “Last 24 hour” and “Today” timelapses that are updated every hour. i.e. If a viewer watches one of your timelapses at 9am and then play it again at 10:30am they’ll see an updated version of that timelapse! Great for snow stake cameras during storms, or surf cams as wave conditions build!
• Adjustable daily start and end times to skip dark times. For example, start your timelapse videos at 5:30am each day and end them at 8pm each evening so that your timelapse viewers don’t have to watch a bunch of darkness.
• You can now add a timestamp overlay to each frame of your timelapse videos, which helps viewers see the exact date and time that each from was created at.
• If your timelapse is your favorite part of your webcam now you set your video player Default Video Source to a timelapse, instead of live video.
• Optionally allow your viewers the ability to download your timelapse video right from the video player, which encourages users to share these videos on social media.

How do you turn all of these features on? Just login to our Dashboard then navigate to Webcams -> Manage -> Timelapses -> Enable Super Timelapse!

Note: Super Timelapse is currently free, but will likely not be available to our lowest plans in the future. We’ll let you know when we’ve decided on who can enable this, but for now all levels and all service tiers can enable it for free.
