SmartPull Streaming is now live!

Less Glitch. More Wag.

Because watching a pixelated pug isn’t nearly as cute as the real thing. SmartPull Streaming keeps your streams smooth and tail-waggingly good.

Our new SmartPull Streaming feature only pulls video from your webcams when someone is actually watching. That means if you’ve got multiple cameras—like in a pet resort, kennel, or any high-traffic setup—you’re no longer wasting bandwidth streaming video when no one is viewing. SmartPull Streaming is FREE for all Brownrice webcam hosting plans.

No viewers? No stream. It’s that simple.
As soon as someone presses play, SmartPull kicks in, starts the feed, and keeps it going for 10 extra minutes after the last viewer leaves—just in case more eyeballs show up.

Cutting down bandwidth? Just another day at the dog park for SmartPull.
Less network congestion, faster internet speeds, and a better experience for everyone—with fewer clicks than a cat walking across your keyboard.

Think of it as one more treat in your tech toy box.

Vastly upgraded webcam media manager!

It used to be that when you wanted to have a logo added to the top of your webcam player you’d need to upload that logo to your website then use our dashboard to create a image source link back to the image on your website.  And what we found is that you practically needed a four year coding degree to figure out how to get all of that done.  No fun for you and no fun for us having to do it for you!

Recommended indoor web cams

Here is a very-short list of a few indoor cameras that we recommend.  However, nearly any IP camera will work.

The price differences of IP cameras generally have to do with 1) the level of optical zoom of the camera 2) wireless capabilities or not and 3) if there is PTZ control. So feel free to go out and find one on your own.  And here is a link to my post about Outdoor, all-weather, PTZ cameras.

If you haven’t seen it yet go here to read about our web camera streaming services: http://hosting.brownrice.com/web-camera-software

When your camera is purchased, installed (we’ll need access to the camera on port 80 and port 554) and online contact us and we’ll get it streaming for you so you can easily embed it on any web site!
